We are looking to recognise the place value of each digit in a 4-digit number, ordering, comparing and rounding numbers
up to and beyond 1000. We will recall multiplication facts up to x12. Columnar methods will be developed and used for
subtraction and addition. We will compare, classify and identify symmetry in shapes. Year 4 will convert between units of
measure; calculate perimeter; estimate, compare and calculate measures, including money in pounds and pence. We
will work on counting in hundredths; solving problems with increasingly harder fractions and show common equivalent
fractions. Time will be converted between analogue and digital 12- and 24- hour clocks.
Throughout all areas we will be solving 1- and 2- step word problems.
Geography
Geographical skills will be taught throughout
the Spring and Summer term which will be
reinforced with a residential trip to London in
