the end of the word or at the beginning.
 Display the page with the arrow and beginning and ending sound block. As you
say a word run your finger across the arrow. Slightly pause at the appropriate
place to emphasize where the /s/ sound occurs in the word.
 While running finger along the arrow say the word “sock”
 Have students repeat the word and point their finger with you across the arrow.
