KIMBALL ART CENTER ANNOUNCES 2011 KIMBALL ARTS FESTIVAL ARTISTS
220 Artists Selected in 12 Media Categories for one of the oldest and largest art festivals in the
Western United States
Park City, Utah – The Kimball Art Center announces artists selected to participate in the 42nd Annual Park
City Kimball Arts Festival. Held August 4-7, 2011 in Park City, Utah, the 2011 Park City Kimball Arts
Festival will feature 220 established artists from across the U.S. and Canada who have been selected to
participate in this annual juried show. Artists from 35 states and 2 countries (U.S. and Canada) were
selected from 860 applications, a significant increase from the entries received last year. This year, 220
international and locally based artists were selected to participate in 12 media categories- ceramics,
drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, metalwork, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and
wood.
“This year, the applicant pool was highly competitive due to the increase in applications and range of
talented artists. The jury remarked on how difficult it was to evaluate such an impressive array of work. I
am pleased with the jury’s results,” says Erin Linder, Director of Exhibitions, Kimball Art Center. “The artists
invited to participate in the festival, many of whom are new comers, offer creative, diverse and interesting
work. There will be an exciting artistic mix at the 2011 festival,” continues Linder.
Each year, a new independent jury is assembled. This year’s jury consisted of 12 art professionals (gallery
owners, art professors, artists), art collectors and art enthusiasts. Over 50,000 art enthusiasts and cultural
tourists are expected to attend this event. With the exception of 12 artists who won “Best of Show” awards
in their respective mediums, no artist was automatically invited back.
This year’s list of selected artists invited to participate to date is as follows:
