Our next quarterly meeting will be on Tuesday,
January 6, 2015 at 7:30 pm. We meet on the first
Tuesday of the quarter unless that day is a holiday.
These meetings last just one hour and give all owners a
chance to come and express ideas. We also have 5
committees that give reports on what is going on.

The Board of Directors has finalized the Master
plan drawings with White Oak Studio for the park
area improvements. The first phase includes:
grating and drainage of the land, removal of the
unnecessary chain link fence, and installation of
the crushed granite walking trail.

Vehicle Decals: are still available for any
resident who does not have one. These decals say
“BWIII & VOSO”. They are meant to go either on
your back driver side window or car bumper.
These decals will help our Constables to identify
who belongs in our neighborhood. This is a
security measure recommended by the Constable’s
Office to help prevent crime in our neighborhood.
If you need decals for your vehicle please come by
the office and pick them up.
ELECTION RESULTS:
Birnam Wood III CAI held its annual members
meeting on 11/5/2014. Les Novak was elected
to the Board of Directors for a 3 year term.
SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO
TOWN
Christmas Lights Contest-December 14
It’s about that time again to put up the Christmas
decorations and lights. Judging will be on
December 14th starting at 7 PM. Don’t forget to
turn on your lights!!! 33 winners will receive gift
certificates from The White Flamingo restaurant
on Aldine-Westfield. The list of winners will be
posted on the office door and on our Web site at
birnamwood3.org.
Santa and his Carolers will be driving through
Birnam Wood III and Villages of Spring Oaks on
Sunday Dec. 7th at 1:00 pm. Spring Volunteer
Firemen are donating their time to help Santa toss
candy to all the good little boys and girls. So
listen for the sirens and come on out and cheer
Santa on. You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy this
simple pleasure.
50+ Thanksgiving Luncheon –

from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm. Birnam Wood will
supply the turkey, dressing, and mashed potatoes.

Enjoy the merriment of the season on a hayride
through the neighborhood with Santa. No
Auditions required-just a loud voice. We need
your energy and Christmas spirit to make this
year’s Parade a huge success!!! Music and
Choirmaster provided. Everyone is welcome
(children under 14 must be accompanied by an
adult 18 or over).

“Happier” classes now YOGA
Happier Mind and Body has combined into one
class now simply called YOGA. The class is
intended for men and women 18 and over. Minors
under 18 are permitted with adult supervision. If
you are interested please feel free to come to the
Elly Brokaw Clubhouse on Saturday morning at 9
am. A class schedule is posted at the Elly Brokaw
Clubhouse and can also be found on our web site

Dog walking
When walking your dog please remember to bring a
bag to pick up after your dog. We are getting
complaints in the office about this. Always keep your
dog on a leash when walking and not running loose in
the neighborhood.

Start the New Year off right, fill your Recycling
Container! WCA and Harris County MUD 43 have
teamed up to make recycling more accessible to all
residents. Everyone should now have a recycle container
on wheels.
The following items are now accepted in your recycling
container:
Paper: Newspaper, Magazines, Catalogs, Junk Mail and
Envelopes, Paper – Bags, Colored, Construction and Office,
Folders, Phone Books, Holiday and Greeting Cards
Cardboard: Corrugated Cardboard Boxes, Paperboard
Boxes (cereal, soda/beer, egg, etc.)
Containers: Aluminum Cans, Tin Cans, Steel Cans, Glass
Bottles and Jars, Empty Aerosol Cans, Aluminum Foil,
Plastics #1-#7 (milk, soda, water, juice, shampoo, detergent,
pool supplies, pet food, etc., excluding Styrofoam), Metal
