A concern was brought to E-board regarding a student government officer wishing to study
abroad
Due to the high demands of an officer position and need for constant communication, E-board
discussed the best options to keep any student in her elected office while allowing her to study
abroad if she wished
 On page 14 of the RSC Student Government Constitution, language mentions a pro tem
or a special election for any student wishing to study abroad
After extensive discussions amongst E-board and with the student who is immediately affected by
any decisions made, the idea of a co-president was decided upon
 A co-president would minimize miscommunication, allow for instant decision-making if
needed, and work with the current president as an equal leader to best organize events
for the class
Senate members were asked to vote upon the co-president idea as a trial for officers abroad,
after being able to ask questions and voice concerns
 Senate approved the motion to allow a co-president trial run
Class of 2014 is directly and immediately affected by this decision
