Ohm’s Law & Resistance
Testing the relationship between the current and the voltage in an electric
circuit
Problem: what is the relationship between the voltage across a conductor and the
current flowing through it?
Hypothesis:
If……………………………………………………………………………….then……………
……………………………………………………………………………………………………
Materials:

Excel worksheet.
Procedures:
a. Use the following website http://phet.colorado.edu/sims/ohms-law/ohmslaw_en.html to use the electric circuit simulator.
b. Adjust the voltage at different readings (1.5v, 3v, 4.5v, 6v,7.5v, 9v)
c. Record the reading of the current intensity at each reading.
d. Use the recorded reading to plot a scatter graph using an excel worksheet.
e. From the graph get the relation between the voltage (V) and current intensity (I)
Data Recording:
Record the data that is required at each step of the experiment in the table you have
then draw a graph using excel worksheet

Analysis:
1. What is the resource of the current passing through the bulb?
……………………………………………………………………………………………
2. What happened to the current as you increased the number of the batteries
(voltage)?
………………………………………………………………………………………
Conclusion:
1. What conclusions can you draw form the results of this lab assignment?
……………………………………………………………………………………………
……………………………………………………………………………………………
2. Compare the results of the experiment with your problem/hypothesis.
