Prisoners of Faith ….
Prisoners of Faith ….
….. have families to.
Richard Wurmbrand
writing from his prison cell
Mihai.
Now you are eleven. Now you most
certainly understand. You know how
much I love you. For hours on end I
caress my pillow and talk to it, imagining
that it is you…
… As I embrace the pillow it becomes
warm, and then I have the same feeling
as I had when I pressed you body to
mine when you were small. I sing and
talk to you.
Nguyen Van Phuong and his wife Pham
Thi Phuong Trang called their first son
Trung Tin which means, “Faithful”
Le Quang Du, (Father of Le Thi Hong Lien)
‘As they dragged my daughter back into
prison I watched her feet disappear and I
could only weep some more. O Lord, please
keep these tears of mine in a bottle.’

families of Prisoners of Faith
“TOUCH”
a poem written by a prisoner in Burma
When I get out I'm going to ask someone to touch me
very gently please and slowly, touch me
I want to learn again how life feels.
I've not been touched for seven years, for seven years
I've been untouched out of touch and I've learnt to know
now the meaning of untouchable.
Untouched- not quite
I can count the things that have touched me
One: fists
At the beginning fierce mad fists beating beating
till I remember screaming don't touch me
please don't touch me
Two: paws,
the first four years of paws
every day patting paws, searching -arms up, shoes off legs apartprodding paws, systematic heavy, indifferent
probing away all privacy.
I don't want fists and paws
I want to want to be touched again and to touch
I want to feel alive again, I want to say when I get out
Here I am please touch me.
