and situated just outside the county town of Maidstone. There are good transport links to
Maidstone, London and Ashford (for the Continent). The school is a specialist Science and Sports
College.

You will be:
 An excellent teacher of Mathematics (experience not important but teaching ability is)
 The ability to teach Mathematics to KS3 and GCSE is essential, the ability to teach beyond
GCSE is preferable
 Innovative in your approach to teaching
 Able to achieve excellent examination results for children
 Motivated by a desire to change lives
 A qualified teacher by September 2015
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative teacher to join a dedicated and
supportive department. The successful candidate will be required to teach Mathematics to GCSE
level.

Information about the school
A mixed 11-19 co-educational High School of 600 students serving the historic market town of
West Malling and surrounding villages. The school is set in pleasant rural surroundings and has its
own lake and extensive grounds.
West Malling is close to the county town of Maidstone and has excellent rail links to London and
Ashford International (for the Continent).
In June 2012, Ofsted graded the school “Good” and there have been further improvements since
that time. We are looking for staff who can contribute to our ambition to be ‘Outstanding’.
The school was completely re-built in September 2007 and therefore has outstanding facilities. All
teachers have laptops and students have good access to ICT and other modern equipment and
resources.
The Malling School is a designated specialist college in Science and Sport in recognition of the
innovative approach to teaching, excellent results and the superb facilities. These include a high
specification Sports Science and Fitness facility which is open to staff at no charge. The school’s
unique setting, with a well-stocked lake and surrounding habitats, is ideal for practical
investigations and ecology projects.
The Malling School is part of a Hard Federation with Holmesdale Technology College in Snodland
and is also part of a Teaching Schools Alliance (Mid Kent Learning Alliance), both of which provide
additional opportunities to staff.
