TADDM’s 3 Key Benefits
Enabling the IT Service Mgmt user to : Learn how
their CIs are configured and changing over time
• Configuration Auditing
Automatically tracks
changes on all CIs &
attribute values over time…
– Tracks changes in
applications
– Depicts that information

Automated
discovery from systems and network devices and the
interdependencies between them
layers 2 - 7
Enables you to understand
what resources you have and
how they can be impacted by
change
Automated
creation of
topology maps
•Maps of discovered topology and their
interdependencies are automatically
created
Visualization of your
datacenter w/o effort
Agent-free
discovery
•Discovery emulates a user and logs onto
servers and apps in order to perform a
deep dive discovery
No distribution or
maintenance necessary for
agents
Credential-less
discovery
•A light weight discovery is provided that
does not require the use of credentials
Provides a very fast “lay of
the land” of your datacenter
Change
history report
•Compares the current values for CI
attributes to their value in the past
Informs you as to “what
changed” and specifically the
current and former values –
enabling you to get back to
“what worked”

TUAM Components
• Administration Server
– Based on an administration tool that runs inside an embedded WebSphere
Application Server
– Installed on the TUAM server that runs DB2
• Processing Server
– TUAM processing engine applies business rules to the data and stores
information in the database
– Typically installed on the same server that runs the Administration Server, but
can be split for load balancing
• Reporting Server
– TUAM reporting is supported by Business Intelligence and Reporting Tool
(BIRT), which is tool that runs in the Eclipse environment and can be installed
on AIX, Linux or Windows
• Database Server
– Stores information produced by the processing engine.
– Does not have to run on the same server as the processing engine
– DB2 V9.1, included with TUAM installation cds.
