Teaching experience:
My teaching has included lecturing biomechanics at both undergraduate and postgraduate level to Allied Health
Professions.

Biomechanical Methods (graduate)
Introduce students to the fundamental methods of two and three dimensional analysis in biomechanics. Topics include
creation of local coordinate systems, coordinate system transformations, joint centre estimations, linear kinematics,
angular kinematics, inverse dynamics, and power estimation.

Biomechanics II (undergraduate)
Introduction to two-dimensional kinematics from a linear algebra perspective, introduction to two-dimensional ground
reaction forces, joint reaction forces, moments, and powers, introduction to three-dimensional kinematics.

Introduction to Microcomputers (undergraduate)
Focus on the fundamental characteristics of microcomputer systems and their role in Exercise Science. Topics include
operating system characteristics, internet utilization, e-mail access, word processing, spreadsheet, and manipulation
of graphic images.

Research Methods (undergraduate/graduate)
Emphasis on procedures for designing experimental research studies including selection of topics, experimental
design, use of human subject’s requirements, statistical analysis, and technical writing for proposals and publication.

Introduction to Statistics (graduate)
Overview of elementary statistics and their application in research. Emphasis is on the appropriate selection,
application, and interpretation of statistical models utilizing commercial statistical software packages. Statistics
covered include descriptive statistics, Chi-square tests, simple and multiple correlation, linear and non-linear
regression, analysis of variance, factor analysis, and discriminate function analysis.

Member of Editorial Board and Reviewer for Razi Journal of Medical Sciences (RJMS), IUMS, Tehran
Member of Ergonomics Board, Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Tehran, Iran
Research Interests:
Research interests are divided into two major categories: rehabilitation biomechanics and ergonomics
Primary focus within the area of rehabilitation biomechanics centre on the measurement and analysis of pathological
gait patterns, and the development of models to predict the functional outcome of specific surgical procedures
commonly used in the treatment of these pathologies. Another area of research within the area of rehabilitation
biomechanics includes analysis of the variability of measures common to the study of gait within normal and
pathological populations, including foot pressure measures, metabolic assessments, kinematics measures, and inverse
dynamic calculations. Additionally, research has been conducted on the efficacy of physical therapy in conjunction
with orthotics to control excessive pronation in walking.
Research interests within the area of ergonomics encompass a wide variety of activities, and to some degree, are driven
by the interests of students who are in the process of designing and conducting Master's theses.
