CATHSSETA 2015/2016 WINDOW 2 DISCRETIONARY GRANTS APPLICATIONS

The Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport Sector Education and Training Authority
(CATHSSETA) is a statutory body established in terms of the skills development Act (1998) as
amended; to advance skills levels in accordance with the National Skills Development Strategy III.
The SETA Grant Regulations as amended prescribes that 80% of discretionary grants must be
allocated to PIVOTAL programmes to develop the sector in accordance with the priorities outlined in
CATHSSETA’s Sector Skills Plan (SSP); that address the skills needs identified on CATHSSETA’s Scarce
and Critical skills list for these sectors: Arts, Culture & Heritage; Conservation; Gaming & Lotteries;
Hospitality; Sports, Recreation & Fitness, and Travel & Tourism Services
CATHSSETA HEREBY INVITES APPLICATIONS FROM THE FOLLOWING STAKEHOLDERS AND LEGAL
ENTITIES WHO FALL WITHIN THE CATHSSETA SCOPE:




Qualifying levy paying enterprises within its sector

the dropdown list choose the Discretionary Grants submenu. Please note, all six (6) sub-sectors top scarce and
critical skills lists are also available on the website.

Applications to support rural areas, people with disabilities and strategic infrastructure projects (SIPs) are especially
encouraged.
 NON SUBMISSION OF ANNEXURE C (PIVOTAL PLAN) OF THE APPLICATION FORM AND APPLICATIONS
RECEIVED AFTER THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSION ON THE
DEADLINE.
Discretionary Grants are allocated at the sole discretion of CATHSSETA depending on the availability of funds,
specific criteria as per the CATHSSETA Discretionary Grants Policy and Guidelines as well as approval from the
CATHSSETA Accounting Authority.
