All of the above Our MoHS success standards : gathering and organizing information solving complex problems Defending your thinking Are just a problem solving process that can be applied to any complex problem one encounters in life. ????? Many of us use the success standards every day. In fact, here’s an established 6 step problem solving process that incorporates our success standards: 6 Step Problem Solving Process 1. Recognize the problem Gather information about the problem. a. Think: What information do I need to help me solve this problem? b. Go and get that information 2. Brainstorm and list possible solutions to the problem or actions you can take 4. Evaluate the possible solutions: What are the pros (good things) and cons (bad things) of each one? 5. Select the best solutions/actions for you to take and explain why you chose that solution/action 6. Implement the solution(s)/actions(s) you have chosen (put them into action/do it). Gather & Organize Information 3. Solve Complex Problems & Defend Your Thinking You may not know it, but you use these success standards in your life! For example, here are some complex problems: Which car should I buy? Or And how do I justify my decision to my mom/life partner/financial advisor? Should I marry Or Should I continue teaching for ___more years? Or should I retire?
