HANDOUT 1/3:
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHING
100 pts.
----TEACHING MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE FEBRUARY11!!!!---SUMMARY
You have the opportunity to be an ambassador representing Goldenview Middle School
by teaching French in an elementary school classroom.
You will receive 3 handouts. Follow the instructions. I MUST review your lesson plan
before you go to a school. Your elementary teaching MUST take place before February
11th—NO EXCEPTIONS!!

You may teach in an elementary school if:
1) You have a C average or better in French
2) You never have received a detention for behavioral issues.

You may do this project with ONE other person.

You must make a FINAL photographic journal (BOOKLET or POSTER) of
your teaching experience, so take at least TEN photos.

No photos? Subtract 25 pts from your final grade.
You will:
a. Arrange a day and time with the elementary school teacher
b. Plan a French lesson with visual aids (posters, Fandango puppets, etc.) that you will
leave in the elementary classroom.
c. Have your French teacher approve your lesson and visual aids
d. Get a blue pass the MORNING OF your teaching day.
e. Present your lesson. Have the classroom teacher COMPLETE YOUR EVALUATION
AND RETURN IT TO ME.
f. Take at least TEN PHOTOS of your teaching experience—IMPORTANT!!!
g. Make a booklet of your experience.

STEP 1: Call the teacher to get permission to teach.

Middle School. I was wondering if it would be alright if I came into your classroom to teach your
students a French lesson.”

STEP 2: Get permission from your teachers at Goldenview.
Students: understand that it is a privilege to participate in this activity. You are responsible for
making up any missed work in your classes. (Seventh hour is the BEST time to miss school).
Teachers: please say “no” if the student cannot miss class or if they are not passing your
class).
