(HITSC) Meeting Recap
– Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) HITSC Meeting
– DAF provided an initiative update to the HITSC on June 24, 2015
– The update highlighted an overview of the DAF initiative scope; the technical
infrastructure; standards development activities and current collaborative
efforts in the industry.
– HITSC Feedback:
– Focus on implementers, Pilots and their feedback for existing phases
– For future phases, identify implementers before proceeding further
– Identify appropriate guidance for policy/technical issues which were identified as
out of scope

DAF Document Metadata Based IG
Activities with IHE
– DAF Document Metadata Implementation Guide
– The IHE Patient Care Coordination (PCC) Technical Committee has published
the Data Access Framework Document Metadata Based Access
Implementation Guide for public comment

– We kindly ask the DAF community to take a look at the most recent IG and to
formally submit comments through the online IHE comment form by the
close of business today (http://ihe.net/PCC_Public_Comments/)
– Please continue to monitor the DAF meeting schedule on the DAF wiki
homepage for the most timely meeting updates

DAF Data Element Based WG
Activities with HL7
• DAF FHIR IG DSTU
– To date, 170 out of 230 DAF FHIR DSTU IG ballot comments have been
reconciled
– With approximately 50 more comments left to reconcile (10 duplicate
comments have been removed), DAF anticipates ballot reconciliations will
conclude by the end of July and the implementation of the comments into
the FHIR build will be complete by the end of August in preparation for
publishing (late August/early September).
– The next HL7 Infrastructure and Messaging (InM) WG will resume on July 8,

DAF Phase 3
• In preparation for Phase 3 of DAF (Federated queries), DAF presented to the
National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network (PCORnet) on June 29,
2015. The PCORnet is a large, highly representative, national network for
conducting clinical outcomes research.
– Identified Phase 1 artifacts and potential applicability to PCORnet community
– Identified Phase 2 activities and requested collaboration from PCORnet
community
