Is Enjoyable
“How happy I will be
what’s the point of doing
something you don’t like?”
Provides a
Good Working
Environment
“If I can’t interact with
people…I will probably quit
the job.”
Will Allow Me to
Make a Difference
Earns a Good Income
“As shallow as it sounds,
money is the one thing I have
to consider when I’m
choosing a job. I’m not going
to do something that I know
can’t help me pay bills.”
Has Flexible
Schedules
“My career can’t consume all
of my time…I need free time to
do a lot of other
things…before I die.”
“That I would make a
difference in some way, you
know, make my mark on the
world.”
3
You may want to consider
getting a degree in engineering
or engineering technology.
4
I know engineering may not sound fun.
And yes, I know that you aren’t a geek.
And yes, I know that math & science may
not be your best subjects.
And yes, I know that you don’t want to
work in a cubicle and get fed pizzas.

6
Love your work and live your life
Be creative

Engineers use their imagination and analytical
skills to invent, design, and build things that
matter. They are team players with
independent minds who ask, “How can we
develop a better recycling system to protect the
environment, design a school that can withstand
an earthquake, or create cutting-edge special
effects for the movies?” By dreaming up creative
and practical solutions, engineers are
changing the world all the time.
