Brushless drive … work planned for
2k8-9
• One antenna system testing with test setup
(simulating the actual dual drive of either azimuth or
elevation axis) in progress in LAB.
…..Completed in MTAC period 2010 both in:
a) position loop mode
b) Velocity loop mode.
Overall position accuracy matches with the test
report of Leopold

• Two more antenna systems procurement,
testing and installation by March 2009

Brushless drive … work planned for

• Test Large test setup by interfacing SSC to BLDC and later with PC-104
• On successful completion of the above, test antenna - C04 with BLDC + PC104
• Leave the unit at C04 for Observation and feedback from Engineering
group / GTAC users.
• Assemble one antenna bldc system in a 19” rack for minimising RFI
emanating from the drives.
• Test / Measure the RFI after the rack is assembled and submit for
acceptance and approval for mass production

1. Generic Antenna Controller Board
FY 2009-10 : Work done :
•
Specification on a new integrated Generic antenna Controller board is
finalisedthis year and a detailed design exercise was undertaken in
active collaboration with BARC's Control and Instrumentation division.
• The design has been completed and frozen.
•
PCB layout work with a vendor is in progress currently. It is expected to finalize the
layout work by Sept 2010.
•
The boards are expected to be populated by Oct 2010 and tests would start in
Oct2010. Antenna tryouts are likely by the end of this financial year.

--- SSI systems were installed on ----- antennas in this financial
years, taking number of antenna with SSI to 22 including 1 prototype
board. In addition, work was undertaken to get fresh PCBs ready for
10 antennnas and the population of these PCBs is in progress. It is
expected to get 10 systems ready and tested in the coming financial
year and install at least 08 systems on antennas, subject to availabilty
of antennas during GTAC cycle.

• Development of Graphic user Interface – GUI developed for monitoring,
data logging from antenna base.
• Make RFI measurements and Cabinet
vendor identification in progress
• Performance checks after installation for one GTAC cycle
compensator extensively tested at C02, Antenna test plan report generated
to validate the code during the antenna installation,added a state machine
“calibrate”
