LHS Booster Club Meeting
November 10, 2014
President Susan Metz called meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
Student Speakers – None
Administration – Assistant Principal Don Ryswyk

Reported on academic awards and recognition of students through the Patriot Pride Club and
end of year academic banquet and ceremony. Patriot Pride program is supported by the
Booster Club.
Minutes

Motion made to approve the minutes of the October 13, 2014 meeting and they were approved.
Treasurer’s Report




Joy Klitzke reviewed balances of activity accounts.
Carolyn Cutler thanked activity representatives for submitting activity budgets. Two activities
have budgets outstanding but are working to get them complete. Presidents’ Bowl 2013
allocations have been made.
Susan noted two GL transactions: $2500 to Patriot Pride and $6000 to debt reduction of fitness
center.
Motion was made to approve the Treasurer’s Report and it was approved.
New Business


Susan reported that the Presidents’ Bowl Basketball Tournament will be held on
November 22-23, 2014 at the Pentagon. Student volunteers are still needed.
Susan reported that Presidents’ Bowl Committee meetings will meet monthly beginning in
January. Sign-ups for volunteers will begin at the December Booster Club meeting. It is LHS’s
turn to chair the event.
Old Business



Susan noted that the Booster Club’s role in the Fitness Facility is to support the facility through
debt reduction.
Jennifer Andrisen Selzler requested fall activity representatives to submit end of season updates
and/or photos for posting on the website. Send to Jennifer via e-mail.
Jennifer announced that the Yearbook is seeking activity photos. The e-mail address for
submitting photos to be considered for the Yearbook will be added to the Booster Club website.
Activity Reports
Debate reported on a successful recent tournament including 1st and 2nd place awards.
Cross Country Boys team won the State Cross Country Championship. Cross Country Girls team was
runners up. LHS Boys and Girls teams were Combined Team Champions for the first time. Will Lauer
placed 2nd at the NIKE Cross Country Heartland Regional race. Many other boys had personal best times.
Football State Championship game is Saturday November 15th. Tailgating information will be sent out
via e-mail. Students wear white.
Girls Basketball fundraiser, Lace ‘Em Up Basketball Tournament, is November 14-15. 49 teams have
signed up.
Choir will perform its Ensemble Tea Concert Wednesday, December 3rd.
Oral Interp took 1st place at a tournament at Washington High School.
Drama reported “The Elephant Man” will be performed November 18, 20, 21, and 22.
Academic recognition presentations were held last week.
Marching Band season has ended. Chicken Dinner and Indoor Marching Show was hosted.
Student Council is planning the Winter Formal for December 6th. Members are also participating in
many volunteer activities.
Volleyball season has concluded.
December 8, 2014 is the next booster meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:07 p.m.
