for study in Year 10. These courses courses are not graded and will appear on the
Record of School Achievement (RoSA) as extra-curricular activities.
• For an elective to run on the timetable there
needs to be a substantial number of students
wishing to do that course
• Where only a few students pick a particular
course it may not be possible to run that
course.
• Students who miss out on a course for this
reason will receive their reserve preference
Important Note:
• Elective subjects are offered as part of the Stage 5
curriculum to enable students to choose an area of
study that is of interest to them
• It is not necessary to choose electives on the basis
of the career path you wish to follow
• Do NOT choose electives on the basis of:
What your friends are doing
Because you think you’ll need it for your career
Because you think it will be easy
