1. Fill out contact sheet
2. Come up with idea for RFP
LOCATE – PRIMARY RESEARCH
3. Create survey [must use at least 1 of each type of questions, 10 question minimum]
Must include questions: grade level, male/female, which school – doesn’t count toward 10
question minimum]
a. Create a Google Doc survey or print-out
b. Conduct a minimum of 100 surveys – online, print, or combination

PART 2- Once rough draft is approved, begin final written project
MAKE SURE YOU’RE WRITING IN DIRECT APPROACH WITH ‘YOU’ ATTITUDE
Include:
Cover –“Request For Proposal” and title & all group members’ names
Table of Contents – include page numbers

Purpose of Work [what is the reason for the report, what is to be accomplished by the report]
Sources and Methods of Data Collection [how did you find the data? answer, who, what,
where, why, how many, what kind, etc.] paragraph form

Summary of Findings [summarize your survey results in mostly all visuals – charts, graphs, etc. All
labeled with % or #, all axis labeled & titled]

Conclusion [analysis of research - what can be concluded/interpreted from summary]
VI.
Recommendation [logical & practical – State what you recommend, then expand upon why]
VII.
Feasibility [research viability of recommendation -organizational, technical, financial (include
expense report)]
VIII.
Closing [persuasive paragraph - summarize key points, emphasize benefits, ask for a
decision/action from the audience]
IX.
Appendix [Copy of survey, online survey results-# completed, any other extra documents]
REMEMBER!!!
 **Visuals make your presentation more appealing – maps, diagrams, drawings, photos, etc.
Incorporate visuals into writing**
 Use Publisher, Photoshop, etc to come up with a creative design layout
 Make it look professional, creative, thoughtful

 “You” attitude – how is it going to benefit UCVTS as a whole
 Writing, organization, and overall look must be UNIFIED – same font, same size, same margins,
same color schemes, etc.
 CHECK, DOUBLE CHECK, TRIPLE CHECK YOUR GRAMMAR & SPELLING

 Wrong word choice
 Upper/lower case errors
 Awkward wording
PART 3
Oral presentation with media
Act as though you are presenting to the Board of Ed. Be PERSUASIVE, professional, and creative.
Have:
1. Introduction with overview
2. Points from each section of your proposal
3. Include & explain visuals
4. Close with passion, persuasion, details and ask for an action
10 minute presentation- you will be stopped @ 10min
 Media must be ready to go on a flash drive – no signing in, no links
 Use the outline as a guide
 Each group member must speak – aim for equal talking time
 Use transitions effectively – both in speaking & in media
 Don’t block the screen or other group members
 Make eye contact with the room not the screen – no notes
 Be direct & persuasive – use AIDA model
 Good posture – be confident! SPEAK UP
 Dress PROFESSIONALLY
 Practice, practice, practice!

Media Tips
 Few to no words = 3-4 bullets; 1-2 words/bullet
 Have effective design, layout, colors
 Use timings, animations, transitions
 Have an ENDING!
