Basic Two Needle Tube Socks in Worsted Weight
Materials:
4 oz -7 oz. Worsted weight yarn (depending on length desired)
Size 5 needles / 5.5mm
Gauge : 4 to 5 sts per inch
Yarn needle for weaving toe
Cast on 48 stitches
Sock Cuff
Row 1-16: K1, P1 across
If you want a longer sock top Row 1 until desired length.
Heel and Foot part:
Row 1:*K1, P1* , repeat 11 times, knit 24
Row 2:Purl 24, *K1,P1* repeat 11 times
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until your sock is 2” less than desired sock length.
On final row place a marker between stitches 24 and 25
Toe:
Row 1: *K 1, slip 1, K1, Pass Slipped stitch over, Knit until three stitches before marker , K2 tog, K1*,
repeat working last K2 tog, K1 three stitches from end of row.
Row 2: purl
Repeat rows 1 and 2 until there are 24 stitches.
Toe End:
Transfer 12 stitches onto other needle.
With right sides together hold both needles parallel in your left hand.
Transfer the stitches alternatively from each needle onto a third needle
Then using the working yarn and knitting two stitches together at a time cast off.
