HOLY TRINITY NEWS (continued)
SALT KITCHEN report from Karen Evans, Coordinator of Social Services. – As you may know, we served the less
fortunate last Sunday (June 7th) We served over 150 meals. The next SALT meal will be served on July 5th (We serve
on the first Sunday of the month – other churches in Nitro serve the other Sundays). We always need
help. Sometimes, when we don’t think there will be enough people to do it, the Lord provides enough of His
servants. Last Sunday we were fortunate to have the help of the Brumley family, Greg Hart, Dale Parkins, Pam and
Marissa Perkins, Tom McCarthy, Greg and Joan Savilla, and the Webster family. Thank you so much, Everyone. If I
have forgotten anyone, please accept my apologies. Please contact me at karen.evans7304@gmail.com or 304380-1353 if you have questions about SALT meal or any other social concerns question
SALT meal workers – John Webster washes dishes as Mel Webster, Dale Parkins and
Joan Savilla figure out what he can do next.

Capuchin Farewell Vesper Service
Today - Sunday, June 14, there will be a Vesper Service at St. Anthony as we say goodbye to the Capuchins who have
lovingly served us for so many years. The Vesper Service will be led by Very Reverend W. David Nestler, O.F.M. Cap.,
the Provincial Minister for the Province of St. Augustine. Several Capuchin priests will be coming to West Virginia for the
Vesper Service, so please join us as we celebrate with them and bid them farewell. Following the service, there will be a
reception in the St. Anthony Parish Center.
Our new priest, Fr. Thomas Kalapurackal, will officially begin his duties with us on Wednesday,
June 17th. If you wish to send him an email of welcome in the meantime, his email is

TRI-PARISH VISION
In the heart of our three churches resides the Triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Born of Divine Life our three churches unfold
like leaves of one tree of life. Each church is unique in character, yet all are bonded in one baptismal call – becoming One Body,
professing One Faith, and living One Mission. Encircled by wheels of collaboration in building the Kingdom of God, we reach out to all
four corners of the world proclaiming by the testament of our lives the saving power of Christ’s Cross.

The kingdom of God may start small
but, like the mighty oak hidden in an
acorn, its potential is enormous. Christ
plants the seed of the kingdom—God’s word—in our
hearts. There, while we sleep and rise, day and night,
it sprouts and grows, we know not how. “The
Christian’s life is a life of faith, founded on the word of
God and nourished by it,” Pope Benedict XVI tells us
(General Audience, March 1, 2006). Let us read and
hear God’s word prayerfully each day and find
nourishment in it, that his kingdom may grow within
and among us.
