ACE Employment Final Assessment/Interview
Tasks:
(1) Students participate in a simulated job interview.
(2) Student will reflect in writing on the interview using reflection questions and comments and
feedback from the interviewer.
Task 1 Instruction:
1. You will participate in a 5-10 minute interview conducted by an adult in the world of work as
interviewer.
2. Your resume and application need to be presented to the interviewer prior to the interview.

Application link. Application needs to be filled out (typed) online and then printed.
3. You will be interviewed for a position based on the objective on your resume.
4. You will be asked up to 10 questions, some common to interview situations, with the number of
questions dependent on the length of answers given.
5. You will be evaluated on the following:
a. Introduction/First Impression:
i. Arrive promptly to your interview
ii. Introduction to interviewer includes your name and title of position applying for
iii. Speaking voice clear and audible
iv. Attire is neat and professionally appropriate
b. Content of Answers:
i. Questions answered completely and logically
ii. Responses presented in standard English, without slang
iii. Effectively turns negatives into positives
iv. Answers remain on target, without digressions
v. Convince the interviewer that you have the skills, ability, and work ethic to
succeed in the position
c. Knowledge of Position:
i. Answers display understanding of duties of position being interviewed for
ii. Answers showcase fit between student’s strengths and needs of position
d. Body Language:
i. Confident demeanor
ii. Consistent eye contact
iii. Displays attention without nervous behaviors
e. Attitude
i. Demonstrates enthusiasm and confidence for interview and position
ii. Demonstrates respect for the interviewer and other candidates for the position
f. Overall impression - convinces the interviewer that you are the best candidate for
the position
Task 2 Instructions:
1. After your interview, your instructor will receive the interviewers rubric and comments. You
will obtain these from your instructor and complete a reflection using reflection questions.
You will self-evaluate your interview using the student rubric.
Mock Interview Questions:
1. Tell me about yourself.
2. What is your greatest strength? Give me an example.
3. What is your greatest weakness? Give me an example.
4. How do you handle stress and pressure?
5. Describe a difficult work situation / project and how you overcame it.
6. How do you know if you are successful?
7. Why are you leaving or have left your job?
8. Why do you want this job?
9. Why should we hire you?
10. What are your goals for the future?
