What is Social Procurement
• Definition “Social procurement involves organisations and
individuals choosing to purchase a social outcome when they buy a
good or service”(Social Traders)
• Definition: “…sets out the Council’s guiding social principles and
identifies priority needs and opportunities within local communities….

Council and the Intellectual Disability Foundation of St George

In November 2005 Manly Council passed a resolution to encourage fair trade
in Manly, with an initial focus on coffee. The Fair Trade campaign was
launched in Manly during Fairtrade Fortnight in May 2006.

Category and took out the Overall State Winner Prize for it’s “Say no to Trans
