What is Social Procurement
• Definition “Social procurement involves organisations and
individuals choosing to purchase a social outcome when they buy a
good or service”(Social Traders)

Rockdale Community Nursery is a joint venture between Rockdale City
Council and the Intellectual Disability Foundation of St George

In November 2005 Manly Council passed a resolution to encourage fair trade
in Manly, with an initial focus on coffee. The Fair Trade campaign was
launched in Manly during Fairtrade Fortnight in May 2006.

Kogarah City Council was awarded with top honours in the Healthy Weight
Category and took out the Overall State Winner Prize for it’s “Say no to Trans
Fats” program, with 30 other councils also competing.
