the School Nurse team.

Description of Service and Client Group
The school nurse team is a preventative health service for school aged children
offering services support and sign posting to maximise their health and wellbeing.

Our team integrate with many community practices which allow our students to
visit ie. Audiology; ophthalmology; dietician etc

Organisational induction by Clinical Education Team followed by local induction
within clinical area

Expectations during placement
The expectation is that the student will contact the team lead
rachel.amos@iow.nhs.uk or 01983 821388 (please leave mobile contact if
unsuccessful) 2 weeks prior to commencement of placement.
To behave in a professional manner at all times, treating all children young
people and families with dignity and respect.
To gain the most out of the placement by asking questions and making the
best opportunities of the practice experience offered
During the placement the student will be given a project to be undertaken
when office based (at the end of the day) as many of the school nurse
team work part time hours. This will be presented to the team at their
team development meeting as close to the end of the placement.
