Assessment Information
Purpose of Assessment
This assessment tool is designed to enable you to collect evidence of your skills and
knowledge to address TAEASS301B Contribute to assessment. You need to apply and
gather evidence from your workplace an RTO or in another training environment which
you have negotiated with your assessor prior to course commencement.
Assessment Outline
This unit typically applies to a person with technical or vocational expertise who is in a
supervisory or mentoring/coaching work role and for whom collecting evidence for
assessment is an adjunct to principal work responsibilities.
As part of the assessment for this unit you need to develop a portfolio of evidence to show
that you have contributed to an assessment process. To satisfactorily demonstrate
competence you need to

Carry out a minimum of three evidence gathering activities, with different
candidates for each activity

Present documentation of the evidence in a clear and concise manner

Present documented feedback from others who have been involved in the
assessment
The assessment for this unit will comprise:

Collection of documented /workplace evidence as identified in Task 1 , 2 and 3

Responses to questions identified in Task 4

Third Party Report completed by the qualified assessor who you have consulted
with in the process of contributing to the assessment process or your
supervisor/manager who has been part of the consultative process. Please provide
verification of qualifications from the qualified assessor or third party who has
completed the report

You can provide audio or video evidence that could be observed by your
trainer/assessor. (this will need to be opened in windows media player)
Or
You will need to meet all evidence requirements to complete the unit and be deemed
competent.

Assessments can be presented electronically via email or in hard copy. Please ensure
that your documentation is presented logically and named clearly.
Your Trainer/Assessor will make judgements on your competence in the unit based
on all the evidence you provide. You must meet all evidence requirements.
Your Trainer/Assessor will provide you with your results and feedback.
Your Trainer/Assessor will negotiate a reasonable due date for evidence to be
submitted. It is important that you submit your evidence on time or
renegotiate an alternative date prior to the due date. .

the options with your Trainer/Assessor

Confidentiality
When submitting assessment evidence including audio, video or written documentation
please ensure that you have gained consent from the candidates. Your trainer/assessor will
provide you with a consent form.
Retention of Learners Assessments
Your completed assessments will be retained for the duration of your course and an
additional 6 months for auditing purposes. If you require access to submitted materials
during this 6 month period please keep a copy of your work and keep for your own use
during this time.
Resources
In undertaking this assessment you will need access to your workplace policies and
procedures and relevant assessment system policy and procedures if you are working with
an RTO or other training institution. You will need access to any reporting documents such
as assessment plans, assessment tools/instruments, third party report checklists and
templates to assist with gathering the evidence.
It is recommended that you use the templates that are provided in this document.
All templates will also be copied to your USB or provided electronically.

Purpose
This checklist is for use by a qualified assessor, workplace manager, supervisor, or
someone who has Certificate 1V in Training and Assessment .Your assessor will negotiate
the most suitable person with you.
Please provide verification of the person qualifications who is writing the third party report
Thank you for agreeing to act as a third party observer.
By completing this report, you are providing feedback on workplace performance to be
used as assessment evidence. We value your contribution and ask that you answer the
questions honestly. It is important that you do not answer a question unless you have
actually observed the candidate perform the task.
This record may assist the workplace to continuously improve their training and
assessment and will be an important contribution for your assessor in making a valid
and reliable assessment decision.
