Worship is the central act of the people of God.
Without question, this is central to our life as a
body of believers. When we gather every Sunday
morning, our primary focus is not on ourselves but
on our Lord. We join together to exalt God, lifting
our voices in praise to the One who gives us life in
all its fullness.
As you consider where you will make your
church home, remember that, above all, the
supreme reason a congregation meets is to truly
worship God and prepare to serve God. If this is
your heart’s desire, we believe you’ll find a special
place where you fit perfectly – First United
Methodist Church.
Welcome to Manchester First United
Methodist Church! We are very pleased to
have you worship with us. I hope you find
in our congregation radical hospitality,
passionate worship, intentional faith
development, risk-taking mission and
service and extravagant generosity.
Join us on Wednesday Night (during the
school year) for Wednesday Night
Together. We offer a covered-dish
fellowship meal each Wednesday, at 5:30
p.m. and at 6:15 p.m. there is a vast
assortment of studies and activities for
children, youth, and adults.
Inside this brochure you will see a listing of
some of our ongoing ministries. Our
Director of Music and Education, Rev. Dana
Brooks, leads several choirs of different
ages and types and works with our
educational ministries. Andrew Mochrie is
our Youth Director. Cindy Lamb leads in
our children’s ministries. Judy Brooks
directs our Christian Learning Center that
includes both a Preschool program (Monday
through Friday) and Mother’s Day Out
(Mon., Wed, and Friday.)
We hope that you will come again and
eventually make our church your church
home. This is a vibrant church, and we
invite you to become part of it. Join us in
the Christian journey and may God bless
you and your family.
Rev. Randy Brown, Pastor

CHILDREN
Keeping young people involved, active,
and learning builds a base for Christian
values to carry with them into adulthood.
Our Elementary and Youth Sunday School
divisions pursue that goal.
UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
Our church has two circles; the Sallie
O'Neal Circle meets on the 3rd Monday
in the evening at member's homes. The
Day Circle meets on the 4th Tuesday in
the church parlor, at 10:00 a.m., with a
Dutch treat lunch to follow at a local
restaurant, for those who are
interested. Both circles have outings at
least once a year, planned by the
members. We are supportive of local,
regional, state, national, and global
ministries. There is a program prepared
by a member of the circle each month.
We also do mission studies with other
churches in our district once a year.
You would be most welcome to visit or
join either group.
Our Sunday morning nursery workers
create a warm, loving environment for
infants and toddlers to begin learning to
love the Lord.
Beepers for parents add a level of
security and the knowledge that their
children are being cared for and loved
well.
During the 10:30 service, we have an
additional program called Children’s
Church, for ages 4 through 3rd grade, that
meets in Room 206.
CHRISTIAN LEARNING CENTER
Our Christian Learning Center is a statelicensed weekday preschool and extended
care program for children ages one through
five. FUMC has sponsored this service to the
community for many years. Its rich tradition
provides quality programs and excellent
curriculums in art, story time, Chapel time,
music, outdoor play, creative thinking, rest
time, and snacks.
 The Preschool operates Monday - Friday.
 Mother’s Day Out operates on Monday,
Wednesday and Friday.
 Preschool Contact Number: 931-728-8283.
