Materials
This course surveys the science of psychology; addresses research methods,
biological bases of behavior, sensation and perception, states of consciousness,
learning, memory, motivation and emotion, language, lifespan development,
intelligence, stress and health, social behavior, personality, and abnormal behavior
and treatment as well as applications of psychology in a culturally diverse world.

Course Requirements
Students enrolled in Psychology need have successfully completed Biology or be
currently enrolled in Biology at NLA.
Research Project
All students enrolled in this course will participate in a psychological research
project designed, conducted and presented by them. Working in small groups,
students will develop and implement a scientific study that examines how the human
brain operates. This project will lay the groundwork for framing the content of this
course in a scientific manner.
