Angel Tree… Fasting… Monday November 30th… (Prayer insert) Lisa’s announcement…
I want to thank you for being here today. Once again we want welcome our guest, we
hope that you have been made to feel welcome.
I also want to thank our church family, I appreciate your faithfulness.
Today… we are finishing our series named “The End”. This was the number one
requested topic in the surveys that we gave out this past summer.
For you who have been here over the last four weeks, I pray that you have a greater
understanding of what is coming down the pike. Notes on YouVersion (live events) and
RWC.com (under resources)...
And maybe, if you read the book of Revelation it will now make more “sense” to you by
understanding the chronology of what is happening.
Our launching scripture is found in Matthew...
Matt. 24:3 (NLT) “Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to him privately
and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of
the world? ” (Matt. 24:36)



The first two weeks we looked a cultural signs, and also looked at signs that we are to
look for within the church…
Week three we looked at the signs of “Birth Pains”… “Time Line”
Last week we looked at the signs pointing to “Great Tribulation”… and we saw how
those signs coincided with the opening of the fourth and fifth seals.
So this morning we are going to look at the last sign that Jesus gave us that will signal
His return. And then we are going to take a glimpse of “The End”.
Words of Jesus on the Mt. of Olives
1. The last sign that will signal Jesus return is a “cosmic disturbance”.
Matt 24:29 (NLT) “Immediately after the anguish of those days, the sun will be darkened, the
moon will give no light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be
shaken.”
Jesus Revelation to John
Rev. 6:12-17 (NLT) “I watched as the Lamb broke the sixth seal, and there was a great
earthquake. The sun became as dark as black cloth, and the moon became as red as blood.
Then the stars of the sky fell to the earth like green figs falling from a tree shaken by a strong
wind. The sky was rolled up like a scroll, and all of the mountains and islands were moved
1
from their places. Then everyone—the kings of the earth, the rulers, the generals, the
wealthy, the powerful, and every slave and free person—all hid themselves in the caves and
among the rocks of the mountains. And they cried to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us
and hide us from the face of the one who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb.
For the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to survive?”

So as we see clearly, the cosmic disturbance is that last sign that signals the return of
Jesus and the judgment of the earth.
Isaiah 13:9-11 (NLT) “For see, the day of the Lord is coming—the terrible day of his fury and
fierce anger. The land will be made desolate, and all the sinners destroyed with it. The
heavens will be black above them; the stars will give no light. The sun will be dark when it
rises, and the moon will provide no light. “I, the Lord, will punish the world for its evil and the
wicked for their sin…”

As the world realizes that the “Day of the Lord” is upon them and that God’s wrath is on
the brink of being poured out on a wicked world…
2. Jesus tells us to look up, for your salvation is near.
Luke 21:28 (NLT) “So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your
salvation is near!”
Matt. 24:30-31 (NLT) “And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in
the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they
will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And
he will send out his angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather his chosen
ones from all over the world —from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.” (1 Thess.
4:13-18)


3.
Notice that as Jesus gives the last sign…
The world mourns because the hour of judgment is upon them…
But not the church…
The believer is not destined for wrath.
1 Thess. 5:9 (ESV) “For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our
Lord Jesus Christ…”

As Jesus hung on the cross…. He bore the sin of the world and its punishment… He took
the full brunt of God’s wrath for us…
 So, before the Day of the Lord begins the church will be caught up.
4. The believer is destined for Heaven.
2

Jesus said… He would return for His “chosen ones”… In Revelation 7, we see the church
in Heaven.
Rev. 7:9-12 (NLT) “After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and
tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They
were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. And they were shouting
with a mighty shout, “Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the
Lamb!” And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the
four living beings. And they fell before the throne with their faces to the ground and
worshiped God. They sang, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and
honor and power and strength belong to our God forever and ever! Amen.”



We are not destined for wrath but for Heaven…
We see that after the “cosmic disturbance” begins and before the seven seal is broken
Jesus come for His Church!
You may be thinking… How do you know that is the Church?
Rev 7:13-14 (ESV) “Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, clothed in
white robes, and from where have they come?” 14 I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said
to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes
and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.


Every blood washed believer from every nation, tribe, and tongue is seen in Heaven.
As the church worships before God in the Heaven…
God’s Wrath is about to be poured out on earth…
Something interesting happens in heaven…
There is silence in Heaven.
Revelation 8.
Rev. 8:1 (NLT) “When the Lamb broke the seventh seal on the scroll, there was silence
throughout heaven for about half an hour.”

Now why? The prophet Zephaniah wrote:
Zeph. 1:7 (NLT) “Stand in silence in the presence of the Sovereign Lord, for the awesome day
of the Lord’s judgment is near.”


There is a reverential fear that silences Heaven… A solemn period for about a half an
hour.
Then according to verses 2-4 an angel stood before the Altar with incense and God’s
people began to pray…
3

The prayers were not intercession for the wicked on earth… but to God who in the final
judgment is being vindicated throughout the universe.
 Seven angels appear with trumpets in Rev. 8, and the Day of the Lord begins…
6. The Day of the Lord begins with 7 Trumpet and Bowl judgments.
 Trumpet 1: Hail and Fire mixed with blood scorches 1/3 of the earth.
 Trumpet 2: A mountain of fire is thrown into the sea. 1/3 of the sea became blood, 1/3
of all living things died in the sea, and 1/3 of the ships in the sea were destroyed.
 Trumpet 3: A star falls from the sky and 1/3 of the springs become bitter and people die
drinking it.
 Trumpet 4: 1/3 of the sun, moon, stars, become dark. 1/3 of the day is dark.
 Trumpet 5: An angel opens the bottomless pit… and releases demons to torment the
people… They will sting like a scorpion, but they will not die. (They will not harm those
who have been sealed)
 Trumpet 6: Four angels of death are released to kill 1/3 of the people on the earth.
 Trumpet 7: Releases seven bowl judgments… Seven plagues… on everyone who
worshipped the beast.
 Bowl 1: Malignant Soars
 Bowl 2: Sea is turned into Blood (as the blood of a corpse)
 Bowl 3: Rivers and Springs become blood
Rev. 16:5-6 (NLT) “You are just, O Holy One, who is and who always was, because you have
sent these judgments. Since they shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets, you
have given them blood to drink. It is their just reward.”




Bowl 4: Sun scorches the earth and people… and people will curse God and they still will
not repent
Bowl 5: Is poured on antichrist kingdom… there will be total darkness…
Bowl 6: Three evil spirits are released from the Euphrates… they work miracles and will
be emissaries to world leaders in order to gather them to battle against the Lord. They
descend on Armageddon.
Bowl 7
Rev. 16:17-19 (NLT) “Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air. And a mighty
shout came from the throne in the Temple, saying, “It is finished!” Then the thunder crashed
and rolled, and lightning flashed. And a great earthquake struck—the worst since people
were placed on the earth. The great city of Babylon split into three sections, and the cities of
many nations fell into heaps of rubble. So God remembered all of Babylon’s sins, and he
made her drink the cup that was filled with the wine of his fierce wrath.”

After the fall of Babylon…
The armies of the world gather at Megiddo.
What they fail to realize… They are being drawn to battle by the invisible hand of God.
The Armies will stretch 200 miles and 2 miles in depth.
Jesus will crush them as grapes are crushed in a winepress. And the blood will splash to
the bridle of their horses.
The vultures will be summonsed to clean up the flesh…
Rev. 19:17-18 (NLT) “Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, shouting to the vultures flying
high in the sky: “Come! Gather together for the great banquet God has prepared.18 Come
and eat the flesh of kings, generals, and strong warriors; of horses and their riders; and of all
humanity, both free and slave, small and great.”

Antichrist and the False Prophet are seized and thrown into the Lake of Fire.
Then Satan is bound and chained and thrown into the bottomless pit for 1000 years…
Jesus reign on earth begins…
After the “millennial reign” Satan will be released, defeated, judged and thrown into the
Lake of Fire for all eternity…
Then all men will be judged…
