What Would Mr. G. Do If He Had to Study For His Own Exam?
____*Take excellent notes during all review sessions regarding the format of the exam.
For the Strunk and White section…
_____1. Re-read pages 1-14 in Strunk and White.
_____2. Re-read pages 1-14 in Strunk and White AGAIN!
_____3. Make flash cards for rules 1-11. Put the rule on one side, and examples on the back.
_____4. Make flash cards for all of the word pairs on our most commonly mis-used words list. Write
the word pair on one side and a three-sentence explanation of the difference between the
two words on the other.
_____5. Spend one hour with a friend quizzing each other using your flash cards. Repeat as needed.
_____6. Ask questions at the review sessions about any rules or examples that are still confusing to
you.
For the art essay…
_____1. Print up color copies of all 20 art images from the exam review Artstor folder:

_____5. Review notes and handouts on history and religion that might be helpful in analyzing the art.
For the Chaucer & “Why do we attend school?” essay…
_____1. Re-read the Chaucer selections in your Norton Anthology (pages 2045-2119).
_____2. Review your active reading of pages 2045-2119 in Norton.
_____3. Review key characters and events in “The Miller’s Tale,” “The Pardoner’s Tale,” and “The
Wife of Bath’s Tale.”
_____4. Review your handout on “Why Do We Attend School?”
_____5. Look for ways to connect our 60 reasons for attending school to our reading of Chaucer.
_____6. Outline your essay connecting “Why Do We Attend School?” to Chaucer.
For the “What should you love the most?” essay…

aligns with your own answer.

following the rubric shared in class)
You can earn extra credit on the exam by doing the following:

_____2. Documenting below what, when, and how you studied for the exam. Be sure to list the
specific dates and times when you studied, exactly what you studied, and how you studied. The
more detailed your description, the more credit you can earn. In other words, use the space below
to keep a study log.
