 Attended The Charles Dickens Secondary Modern School, Broadstairs, Kent, UK.
 Managed and worked in our family retail/wholesale business for several years,
upon leaving school.
 Lived/worked + studied German, in Germany, for 18 months, in the early 1980’s.
 From May 1980-1988, worked on the cross channel ferries as a ship’s cook –
reaching the rank of Chief Cook.
 Worked in Russia from May 1995-May 2013; teaching general English +
International Business English to most of Russia’s top companies and their
personnel. For the last few years I have been working mostly in the capacity of a
freelance Business English language consultant in Russia.
 The first ever foreigner to give a two hour lecture/talk: on how our native
language shapes the way we view other/different cultures + the importance of
culture bridging in a globalised world, at Rosatom’s Nuclear Research University,
“MEPhI.” Six Nobel Prize winners including N.G. Basov (MEPhI graduate), A.D.
Sakharov, N.N. Semenov, I.E. Tamm, P.A. Cherenkov and I.M. Frank worked at
the MEPhI.
 Vast experience of teaching people from a wide variety of cultures – from Asian
to Arabian; as well as Russian and European.

Current status
ESL teacher at Golders Green College, London + at their Princess College centre, Central
London + I am currently working, on a freelance basis, for a Russian businessman, in
London, providing intensive FCE and Business English lessons + personal assistant
duties. I am also working with the EFL teacher supply (Evocation EFL) agency, in
various EFL educational establishments around London.
I am also providing Skype English lessons to students in Russia, London (to Russian
children/teenagers in the UK) and Turkey.

Key Achievements
 1988 Drew up and presented a petition (under my own initiative) in Brussels, in
front of 350 MEP’s calling for tighter laws: in connection with the safety of the
construction of passenger RoRo ferries, using European ports – following the
Herald of Free Enterprise capsizing. Petition was supported and made into law.
 1995 Moving to Russia and starting a successful new career and life in Russia +
learning the language and culture.
 March 2004. Went to Hong Kong in the capacity of a personal
translator/interpreter, for a Russian businessman, and took a pro-active part in all
the high-level meetings and was instrumental in his opening a western bank
account.
 Nov 97-Sept 98: Established my own English language company, within the
territory of the Moscow Aviation Institute, together with three other partners.
 2005-2007: Successfully helped a very large Belgium-based logistics company,
establish themselves in the Russia market.
 Designed and implemented very industry specific “Nuclear” English, as well as a
Business English course, for the Rosatom Academy, Moscow, Russia, in a
modular format.
 English sub-titles for various Russian films, for international release + doing the
English language voice over, for a presentation for the visiting CEO, to Moscow,
of Pepsi Co; following their nine billion dollar acquisition of a large, Russian food
and beverage company.
