DAILY CLASS RULES
For Mrs. Courtney’s Class
Seat Assignments

Seats will be assigned by the
teacher until further notice.
Students not in their proper seat
are considered tardy and face
the appropriate consequences.
What behavior is expected
upon entering the classroom?
1) Enter the room quietly and
without disruption.
2) Prepare yourself for class
(sharpen pencil, store your
books, etc.)
3) Get out your math folder or
binder.
4) Start your DMM (daily mental
math)
Class dismissal

Class will be dismissed by the
teacher at the appropriate
time.
What behavior is expected
upon leaving the classroom?
1) Collect all of your materials
without being disruptive.
2) Straighten up the area around
your desk (pick up trash,
check desk for writing, etc.)
3) Upon dismissal, leave in an
orderly fashion.
What do I do when I am
tardy?
1) Come into the classroom
quietly and without disruption
and have a seat.
2) Once there is some down time in
class, see me about your
tardiness.
3) Upon the third unexcused
tardy and thereafter will be a
write up.
How to request permission to
leave the room:
1) Wait for a break in class
where I am not talking.
2) Quietly ask for permission to
leave and my hall pass.
3) Fill out the Hall Pass Log
on the door.
Make every effort to use bathroom
or get a drink before and after
class.
How do I turn in late or makeup work?
Place it in the appropriate tray on the side
of the room by the windows.
DO NOT HAND THEM TO ME OR
PLACE THEM ON MY DESK!
What to do if you don’t have
your homework?

Sit quietly while it is being collected.

Turn it in the following day.

If this becomes a frequent problem
for individuals, you will be
appropriately punished.
Cheating Policy:
All Parties involved will:
1) Get a zero on the assignment.
2)
Parents will be contacted.
3) Be written up.
What should I bring to class
each day?




Pencil
Paper
Math Folder or binder
Homework
What to do if you don’t have
materials?
1) First, quietly attempt to
borrow materials from a
friend.
2) If you cannot get what you
need, see me.
Procedure for trash disposal:

Wait until a break in class, and
quietly without causing a
disturbance throw it away.
What to do if you need a
tissue:

Quietly, without disrupting the
class, get a tissue.
Policy about gum, food &
drinks:

Gum, food, & drinks are NOT
permitted in class or the school.

You get one warning then you
will be written up for defiance.
Where to find assignments if
you were absent:

If you are absent, it is your
responsibility to pick up your missing
work from the “We missed you folder” in
the front of the room.

You will have one day for each day you
are absent to turn in the work before it
is considered late.

These assignments are to be turned
into the appropriate tray by the
windows.
What to do if you finish before
others:
1) Let me check your work.
2) Quietly, find something else
to work on.
3) I would suggest having a
book with you to read.
Areas of the room off-limits to
students:
1) Behind the teacher’s desk.
2) All cabinets and drawers.
3) All computer and electronic
equipment.
4) The thermostat.
When is it NOT okay to talk?

During lecture and/or
individual homework time.

During tests or quizzes.

During fire or safety drills.
One final thought….

It is going to be a great year.
