the following questions on notebook paper to prepare for the test.
1. You will have to fill-in a blank colonial map with ALL of the 13 colonies. There
WILL NOT be a word bank! (USE THE BLANK MAP ON THE BACK OF THIS PAPER
AS A STUDY TOOL.)
2. Describe the physical features and climate of the New England Colonies.
3. Explain what is meant by the people who settled in the Middle Colonies were
diverse.
4. Explain the economy of the Southern Colonies.
5. Describe the types of government that a majority of the colonies shared.
6. The Mayflower Compact, the Fundamental Orders, and town meetings were all
examples of what type of colonial governments?
7. Explain why African slaves replaced indentured servants throughout the
colonies.
8. What were the three main reasons the English colonies were founded?
9. For each of the eight colonies that we researched during the colonial fairs
explain why each colony was founded. (this means who were the settlers and
why did they create the colony)
10. Using the colony notes that I typed for you, be able to identify each colony
based on that colony’s specific characteristics (i.e. founders, settlers, climate,
geography, economy, religion, and government)
11. There will be a reading passage, charts, pictures, and/or maps on the
assessment that you will have and interpret the meaning of.
