The Airplane Flight Recorder
My research topic is the significance of the flight data recorder along with cockpit voice
recorder and their valuable information in recovering air crash investigation. The recorder has
popular synonym which is black box. The most important to realize that flight recorder has a
high priority when air crash investigation occurs, the first thing investigators search and look in
is that’s recorder device to analyze the air safety issues, since all the airplanes equipped with
flight recorder.
My complex question is how the flight recorder can reveal the causes of
aviation accidents. The topic is significance to me as I have adopted this kind of investigation
because I studied Travel, Tourism and Flight and now I am studying computer science, then I
will enroll in Programming Engineer to specialize in hardware engineering to get closer to my
dream which is programming the electronic devices such as flight recorder. I also interested in
this topic because my family and my close relatives go aboard so often and I am afraid to lose
any of them. So, it became my concern to work on how flight recorder is designed and function,
how it can facilitate in conducting the air wreckage investigation, what are the components of the
cockpit voice recorder, why it is called black box, and what the investigation procedures are.
I
believe that air crash investigation associates directly to the cockpit voice recorder, therefore, the
subject became a broad concern as it is well-known that too many international airlines incidents
happened recently with catastrophic immense losses in lives and money, most of them revealed
by the National Transportation Safety Board, International Civil Aviation Organization and
Federal Aviation Authority in collaboration with the incident airway’s investigators upon the
flight recorder, not to mention the destruction of the reputation of the stricken airline, and to
emphasize the role of the families of victims who lost their relatives and friends in crash and they
request further explanation for what was happened, that’s why it is significance for the world to
understand and know the function of the flight data. I’m completely certain that the flight
recorder solve hidden airplane crashes investigation in the past and current accidents and
incidents, in addition solving previous incidents can prevent the future incidents if the
investigators learn from previous accidents and if the engineers refine and develop the recorder.
I would like to set a well done plan to perform the research proposal and all the research papers
online to approach perfectly the aim of this course on time and here are the deadlines that I have
consider:
On Monday 02/08/2016 - Research Proposal along with a cover letter has to be submitted to the
Westchester Community College’s Blackboard.
On Sunday 02/28/2016 - Annotated Bibliography with cover letter has to be uploaded to the
Blackboard.
On Sunday 03/13/2016 - Research Article and cover letter has to be posted to the Blackboard.
