Reflective Overview
The first song of my all soundtracks is called “Black President.” This
song was written and performed by the famous rap singer- Nas. The second song
is also written and performs by the Nas which is called “Hero”. The third song is
named “Mississippi Goddam,” this song is performed by the Nina Simone, and it
is written also by Nina Simone. The fourth song is named “Where Is the Love?”
which is performed and written by Black Eyed Peas. The last song of my all
soundtracks is performed by Eminem and fat by the Nas, this song is named
“White Country.” Those five songs are related with the issue of human rights and
the racial problems in the United States, and it also related with my politics point
of views and my life in the United States.
The five songs sand a massage to me or we can say that this massage is
also to the entire United States. This massage is about the esteem of each race in
the United States, and few songs in my soundtrack also blame the racial
discrimination and disrespect of human rights. The massage strongly stands for
the people who have been suffered under the racial discrimination. We are
equally; those five songs bring this voice into my heart. The racial problems have
long history and still exist in the United States, the United States is an immigrant
country and there are many different races live in this land as their home. As a
result, there are few conflicts between different races. Most of American tries
their best to solve this problem; they use different methods to express their hope
of the equal. The first and sound songs in my all soundtracks are all written by the
famous black rap singer- Nas, the two songs bring the same massage to their
audience which is to praise the first black president- Barack Obama. He considers
him as a hero and the symbol of racial equality. One black man becomes a leader
of United States; Nas think that black president Obama stand for the all American
to express a massage to the whole world, even though American has many gaps
and problems between each race at before, American have faith to overcome
those things and become more unity than before. We all know the politics have
deep relation with life of people, the first black president have deeper meaning
which is the awareness of people who have problems with race. They gave the old
idea up to win a future. The last three songs express many feeling of the artists to
the audience, there are anger, Sadness and helpless. The three songs use the
methods of irony, rhetorical question and analogy to show and criticize the
unequal phenomenon in the society.
For me, the five songs are truly affect me, I am an international student
from China and I am a yellow people. Most of time, I feel comfortable to live in
this country, but some people or thing will give me bad feeling with my skin
color. I have same feeling as Nas does, the first black president prove the change
of this society which is right attitude for the each race. I respect everyone around
me whoever they have different color of skin or speak different language. I also
hate the racial discrimination and disdain someone who is disrespect with others.
Accord to the survey of my political class, I am a liberal. I love life and respect all
life around my life. I do not agree with the racialism, I hope people can treat each
other equally.
My soundtrack and my analysis of speech help me to understand politics
more than before. I understand the politics is come from life and basic on the life.
Everyone have their own idea for the politics, it gives people a unique opinions to
think about the thing happening around us. For example, my first song is to praise
the president Barack Obama, and my analysis of speech is about the president
Roosevelt as a leader to encourage American to protect their country. From the
two assignments, I can understand the president who is a highest political and
country leader, but he or she also is considered as a symbol and signal of this
country and people’s attitude of politics.
