Following Companies allows new job openings
to be posted into your newsfeed- reducing your
search for interesting positions
Following a Company is a similar function to
groups, but without the conversations

HOW TO JOB SEARCH WITH LINKEDIN
YOU HAVE YOUR PROFILE, NOW WHAT?
Once you have a complete profile click on the
Jobs tab at the top
Select ‘Students and Recent Grads’
Select the industry you want to explore, for
example: Engineering
START REFINING
Use strategic search terms
LinkedIn will offer you suggestions at the
bottom of the page for similar terms
Select what you want to narrow your search:
Narrow down your locations
Narrow down the experience level
Narrow down your industry
SEARCH, SEARCH, SEARCH
 Read through descriptions, save for later, or apply!
 If you notice some cool positions with a company but you
aren’t quite qualified- follow the company and try in the
future!

 Don’t forget to look at

 There is also a
‘People who viewed
this job also viewed…’
section at the bottom
of the page
OTHER FEATURES
InMail- an email like feature where you can
email connections through LinkedIn
Recruiters can also send you messages
Notifications- you can be notified when other
people view your profile
LinkedIn will tell you how often you appear in
searches
