Classwork
Classwork is work that is assigned during class and is collected before the period is
over. It is important to stay on task when doing in-class assignments.
Homework
Homework is given to practice what we have already gone over in class or to prepare
students for the information we will go over the next day. It is also covers material that
can be used to study for a test/quiz on that section.
Projects
There will be research projects assigned throughout the year. Projects are graded
based on a rubric given to students that breaks down exactly what is expected on the
project.
Quizzes and Tests
You will receive three different types of evaluations this year:
● Section quizzes
● Chapter/unit tests
● Benchmark tests
Policies
Work is expected on the date it is due (at the beginning of the period). If it is turned in
late, it will only count for half credit. If a student is absent, he/she will have as many
days as they were absent to turn in work for full credit. It is a student’s responsibility to
ask for work when absent and to turn in the late work.
Supplies
Students are expected to be bring the following supplies to science class everyday:
● Agenda (provided by the school)
● Pencils with an eraser
● Notebook or binder with paper
