A Note From the Teacher...

Snapshots
Happy October! We have a lot going on this
month  On October 14th, we will be going to
see the Orlando Ballet at the Bob Carr. Our
trip to the ballet is funded by Orange County
and only allows for students and teachers to
attend. I <3 a Book Day will be October 31st.
Please contact Paula Chalfant if you are
interested in volunteering that day  Thank
you all for your continued support!
Week of September
30th – October 4th
Reading- This week, we have been
taking the Unit 1 reading and
language arts tests. The skills that were
tested include: reading
comprehension, plural/singular nouns,
short/ long vowels,
subject/predicates, compete
sentences, 4 types of sentences, and
editing sentences. Students will be
bringing their graded tests home next
week. Please make sure you review
them and then sign and return 
Math- We have been finishing up
Chapter 2 on place value and
numbers to 1,000. Students will be
taking Chapter 2 Test next Tuesday.
Please continue to make sure that
your child is practicing basic addition
and subtraction facts at home.
Social Studies- We have been learning
all about weather! So far, we have
discussed the water cycle and
seasons 

Scholastic
Book Orders
The October Scholastic Book Order has
gone home. If you are interested in
ordering any books, you can order
online or send in the book order form
with a check  The due date for this
month’s order is October 17th.
