 I/we accept that the permission and the charge you are making for the visit is based on our acceptance of the following conditions:
- You and your employees or agent(s) will not be liable to me or to any of the persons who accompany me for death or injury
sustained while on the Nature Reserve or for any loss or damage to my or their property.
- I accept and have made the persons accompany me aware that we visit the Nature Reserve and its facilities at our own risk.
- I will not bring any other persons (other than those stated in Appendix B) to the Nature Reserve without your express consent.
- I and the persons who accompany me will be responsible for and will make good any loss or damage we cause in the Nature
Reserve.
- I also accept that the permission you gave may be revoked at any time either before or during our visit to the Nature Reserve.

A. Visitor Guideline
1.
Visitor Name List and/or Details

According to the requirement of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, visitors should submit their number of HKID
or passport for registration to enter the nature reserve.

Once an application is accepted, visitors may not change their booking to another tour / activity.

Visitor names can only be changed up to three working days prior to the tour / activity.

A tour / activity might be cancelled if the number of participants is below 10. If so, our staff will inform all visitors at least 3 working
days prior to the tour / activity.
2.
Preparation:

Wear clothes in plain colour;

Wear sturdy walking shoes (note the terrain is gentle inside the Nature Reserve).

Bring plenty of water and snacks. A soft-drink vending machine is located at the Visitor Centre (start/finish point).
3.
Code of Entry for the Reserve:
 Children under the age of 4 are not allowed to enter the Reserve. Children under 12 years of age are not allowed to visit the Frontier
Closed Area. And different activities will have specific ago limit, please read through our webpages for details. Aged below the limit is
also not allowed to enter the Reserve;
 Please be at the Visitor Centre at least 10 minutes before the tour / activity starts, show the confirmation email or receipt to our staff.
Late arrival will not be allowed access to the Nature Reserve.
 Baby strollers are not permitted in the Reserve.
 Never use flash when taking photographs.
 Mobile phone should be switched to quiet mode.
 Please keep noise to a minimum inside the Reserve.
 It is illegal to smoke inside the Reserve (including e-cigarettes).
 No littering.
 No fishing, wading or swimming.
 Please respect WWF-Hong Kong property.
 Please remain quiet in the bird watching hide, do not poke your arms, cameras or telescopes out of the hide window and close all
window shutters before leaving.
 Do not disturb wildlife nor remove any plant or animal from the Reserve.
 At all times, stay with your group and follow the WWF-Hong Kong staff or designated nature interpreter.
4.
Safety Advice:

Keep a list of WWF contact telephone numbers on you at all times (paragraph 6 below).

If lost, follow obvious tracks e.g. concrete paths, boardwalks or roads. Stay away from the bush.

Avoid touching bird droppings. When leaving, clean the soles of your shoes in the foot bath at the entrance / exit point of the
Reserve and wash your hands.

Do not disturb any bee or wasp nest

Do not touch any plant leaves unless advised to do so by the interpreter
5.
Adverse Weather Condition:
 The tour / activity will be cancelled if any of the following signals are hoisted within three hours before the scheduled tour start time:

a Typhoon Signal No. 3 or above by the Hong Kong Observatory;

a Yellow, Red or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal by the Hong Kong Observatory;

Air Quality Health Index (Yuen Long station) at 10+ “Serious” by Environmental Protection Department;
 WWF Hong Kong staff will contact you on the first working day after the cancelled tour / activity, in order to help you to reschedule, no
surcharge is needed.
 Other than the above condition, all kinds of programmes will commence as normal in other weather conditions without further
notification. If participants do not show up because of personal reasons, no payment will be refunded. No rescheduling of tour /
activity will be arranged whatsoever.
 In case of heavy rain or thunder storm, visitors will be required to stay indoors. Any tour / activity underway will be suspended
immediately if any of the following signals are hoisted. No refund or rescheduling will be made:

a Typhoon Signal No. 3 or above by the Hong Kong Observatory;

a Yellow, Red or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal by the Hong Kong Observatory;

Air Quality Health Index (Yuen Long station) at 10+ “Serious” by Environmental Protection Department.
NOTICE: WWF Hong Kong staff has the final right to reschedule, shorten and cancel the tour / activity, where no payment will
be refunded or rescheduled.

HOW TO GET TO MAI PO
FROM SHEUNG SHUI:
Private Transportation


Turn off the highway (route 9) at the Pak Shek Au and San Tin signpost.
Go along Castle Peak Road, through San Tin towards Mai Po Village (Map B).


Turn right at the “Mai Po Nature Reserve” signpost.
The Mai Po Visitor Centre and car park (Map A) are opposite the Pak Hok Chau Police Post.
* We encourage visitors to reach Mai Po by public transportation due to limited space in our car park*
Public Transportation
1. Minibus

In San Fat Street, next to Sheung Shui Landmark, take minibus no. 17 (red top) to Mai Po Village, about 20 minutes
(Map B).

Alight at Tam Kon Chau Road near Mai Po Village (Map B). Walk 20 minutes along Tam Kon Chau Road to reach
the Mai Po Visitor Centre (Map A).
2. Bus


Take KMB Bus no. 76K from Choi Yuen Road opposite Sheung Shui MTR station.
Alight at station “Mai Po” near Mai Po Village (Map B). Walk 20 minutes walk along Tam Kon Chau Road to reach
the Mai Po Visitor Centre (Map A).
3. Taxi

Take a green taxi from Sheung Shui MTR station to the Mai Po Visitor Centre (20 minute ride, around HK$ 80).

FROM YUEN LONG:
Private Transportation

Take Route 3 towards Yuen Long. After Tai Lam Tunnel, go northwards towards Lok Ma Chau along San Tin
Highway.

Exit from the San Tin Highway when you see the “Fairview Park” signpost.

At the roundabout, turn off at the “Mai Po” signpost and proceed along Castle Park Road towards Mai Po (Map B).

Turn left at the “Mai Po Nature Reserve” road sign (Map A).

The Mai Po Visitor Centre and car park are opposite the Pak Hok Chau Police Post.
