Introduction to Coordinate Geometry and
Spreadsheets Mac Version
Step 1
On graph paper draw a set of x and y axes. Plot the set of coordinates below for x and
y in order to complete a picture. You should be able to join the points without taking
the pen from the paper.
(-1,-2 ), ( -1,2 ), ( 0,3 ), ( 2,3 ), ( 3,2 ), ( -1,2 ), ( -1,-2 ), ( 3,-2 ), ( 3,2 ), (3,-2),(1,-2),
(1,0), (2,0), (2,-2)
Step 2
Use Excel to construct a spreadsheet with column A recording the x coordinates and
column B recording the corresponding y coordinates.
Highlight all the cells that contain the coordinate data, choose Other Straight marked
scatter or Straight lined scatter.

Your task is to think about your Graphics Art Project
 design your own picture on a sheet of graph paper (at least 30 points)
 use an Excel spreadsheet to draw a table of values and draw a graph
