Mrs Margaret Leung Ko May Yee, SBS, JP
Steward of The Hong Kong Jockey Club
Mrs Margaret Leung graduated from The University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor
Degree in Economics, Accounting and Business Administration. She has a long and
distinguished career in banking and has worked in Bank of America, The Hongkong and
Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd and Hang Seng Bank Ltd. She is currently the
Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Chong Hing Bank Ltd.
Mrs Leung is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of China Construction Bank
Ltd, First Pacific Co Ltd, Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd, Li & Fung Ltd, QBE
Insurance Group Ltd and Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd. She was previously a Director
of Hutchison Whampoa Ltd, Swire Pacific Ltd, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking
Corporation Ltd, and Wells Fargo HSBC Trade Bank.
Mrs Leung has an outstanding record of public service. She is currently a member of
the Hospital Authority Board and the Standing Committee on Disciplined Services
Salaries and Conditions of Service. She is also a Council Member and Treasurer of the
University of Hong Kong, and a Member of Chinese University’s MBA Advisory
Board.
Her past public roles include Chairman of the Executive Committee of The Community
Chest of Hong Kong; and Member of the Advisory Committee of the Securities and
Futures Commission, the Banking Review Tribunal, the Export Credit Insurance
Corporation, the Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council and the International
Advisory Board of Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Mrs Leung was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong SAR Government
in 2012 and is also a Justice of the Peace.
She joined The Hong Kong Jockey Club in 2000 and was appointed a Voting Member
in 2006.
