SKKU receives exchange student program applications using an online system; exchange students are not asked to submit paper form. All supporting documents are also to be attached on the online application form electronically in either PDF or JPEG format, while hardcopy may be requested if needed.

* Online application system works best on Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome on Microsoft Windows.

Required documents for admission:

Legitimate Photograph (3 by 4 cm preferred)

Photocopy of valid passport with personal identification page

Certificate of enrollment for the degree the applicant is currently seeking

Transcript with cumulative academic records for all courses taken

5.

Certificate of financial support (of 5,000 USD or equivalent per a semester) The certificate of financial support is an official bank statement or letter which shows that at least the required amount is available in liquid assets.

Visa: Exchange students are expected to get D-2 visa at Korean Embassy or Consulate in their home country.

Certificate of Admission : - Certificate of Admission issued by Korean Immigration Office is needed to get visa

- Certificate of Admission is going to be sent by SKKU International Office after evaluating applicants' documentations

- Required documents for issuing visa vary from country to country, so that applicants are advised to make inquiries to Korean diplomatic offices in their country individually

- who have short-term visa (C-3) should change visa type into D-2 at Korean Immigration

Expected Arrival Date: Exchange students are advised to arrive a couple of days prior to orientation for exchange students.

* SKKU International Office will send each accepted exchange student a package which includes a Certificate of

Admission and invitation letter (for visa issuance), a handbook for exchange students, an International Summer

Semester brochure, and additional useful information and materials. Please make sure that students give us correct email address having enough capacity to which we can send information.

GSN HI-CLUB (Student Buddy Group)

SKKU International Office closely cooperates with the Global Student Network: Help & Information Club (GSN HI-

CLUB), which is a volunteer student buddy group that helps and supports exchange students to adapt to living in

Korea. HI-CLUB also organizes a number of cultural events where exchange and SKKU students can come together. They are one of the most valuable sources of help and information that is always accessible to exchange students.

Their main responsibilities are :

- To hold an orientation for exchange students in collaboration with the SKKU IO

- To organize cultural events for exchange students

- To help students deal with academic and practical matters

Using T-card

Using T-card in Seoul and Metropolitan cities is the best way to save your travel budget. The card fee is 3,000 KRW, and you will get 100 KRW discount at each time. You can buy this card at any subway station. The subway fee is up to the distance. In general, it costs 1,000 KRW to 1,500 KRW.

Food

Restaurants near campus provide a variety of food from KRW 5,000.

Museum

There are more than 100 museums in Seoul. Some museums have free admission and others require 3,000 KRW to

7,000 KRW for entrance ticket.

Banking

On-campus banks include Woori Bank, Post Office Banking Service. Local bank's ATM does not provide withdrawing cash service for ISS international students. You need to be advised on overseas cash withdrawl service from your own local bank.

Wireless Internet

The wireless network services are available around the campus.

PC Lab

Students are able to use the internet connected PCs at the PC lab located in the Dasan Hall of Economics, Susan Hall,

Business School Building, Law Building and Central Library. But students are recommended to bring their personal lab top computer because PC Labs are not available all the time during vacations.

Photocopy room is in the library nearby the international hall.

Medical Clinic

Medical Clinic is in the students union building and free medical services are internal medicine, general surgery, family medicine, psychiatry, single women's clinic and general treatment. Charged service is dentistry(Free examination, chargeable treatment)

SKKU Shuttle Bus

There is a university shuttle bus station nearby Hyehwa subway station.

If you get out from exit number 1 and go straight, you will see the sign of shuttle bus.

You can see the shuttle bus stations in the campus on the campus map.

Fair : 300KRW (cash), 250KRW (ticket)

Operating hour : 7:00 ~ 23:00 (Weekdays) / 7:00 - 19:00 (Saturday)

Interval : 15 ~ 20 minutes

A little before you reach the shuttle bus station, there is a green town bus stop.

This bus is run by Seoul City. If you take Daehangno bus number 7, it will take you to in front of Seoul campus main gate.

Fair : 700KRW (cash), 600KRW(T-money card)

Interval : 10 minuets

If you take subway and then take the bus with T-money card, you’ll get transfer discount.

If you come by Anguk station, get out from exit number 2. As soon as you get out, you will be able to found a town bus stop sign easily. There are 2 buses. Jongno bus number 1 and Jongno bus number 2. Only Jongno bus number 2 takes you to our campus. It comes in through West gate of Seoul campus and the final stop of this bus is parking space in Seoul campus.

Fares and Interval of this bus is same as Daehangno town bus number 7.

From Incheon Int'l Airport to the Campus

By subway

A. Take the Airport Railroad from Incheon Airport. There is a commuter line and express line. It will be better for you to take express line if you can.

B. Transfer to line 1 at the Seoul station. You should take the subway in the direction of City Hall station and Jonggak station, not Yongsan station and Singil station.

C. Transfer to line 4 at the Dongdaemun Station. Take the subway toward Hyehwa station.

D. Get off the train at Hyehwa station. Exit the station out of exit number 1 and walk straight.

There will be university shuttle bus.

E. Take the shuttle bus you will be arrived in Seoul campus of Sungkyunkwan University.

Fares : 3,800KRW(subway) + 300KRW(shuttle bus) = 4100KRW

Time : 103 minutes

A. Walk to the bus stop in the Incheon Airport.

B. Buy ticket for, and take bus number 6011.

C. Get off the bus at the SungDae Ipgu. It may also say HyeHwa station, it is the same stop.

D. Walk to Sungkyunkwan University main gate or take a university shuttle bus from in front of

Daiso.
