Dear HWP members-We give thanks to God for a great round of Annual Meetings, now
complete! All HWP churches ended 2011 in the black, and our
ministry together continues to move forward. Thanks be to God,
for all God's blessings!
SUNDAY! – SOUPER BOWL OF CARING- In 2011, HWP Youth had
the 10thhighest collections among MN groups and the 5th highest
among ELCA MN congregations! Help us make history again while
helping the hungry! Food items and funds will be collected before and
after worship at all HWP congregations. Checks can be made out to
Healing Waters Parish.
PRAY FOR SEMINARY INTERNS! Today, on February 1, Luther
Seminary begins letting next year's interns read the internship site
applications. That includes the Healing Waters application! Please pray
that God will lead students to consider interviewing to be an intern in
HWP. Pr Steve & Pr Evelyn plan to interview intern candidates on Fri
Feb 17.
2012 PARISH OFFICERS - Thank you to these members for serving
as the HWP Executive Committee: President Linda Dieken (St Lucas),
Vice President Marilyn Larson (Bergen), Secretary-Treasurer Julie
Volstad (YMLC).
HWP MUTUAL MINISTRY COMMITTEE - Serve as a liaison between
your congregation and the pastors. Share your insights with HWP's
pastors, bring forward ideas or concerns, and support HWP's ministry.

2012 SW MN SYNOD EQUIPPING CONGREGATIONAL LEADERS
DAY will be Saturday, Feb 11, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar.
The focus will be "Walking Together in Christ's Mission." Keynote
speakers will be Rev. Dr. Jessicah Duckworth from Luther Seminary,
and SWMN Synod Bishop Jon Anderson. A wide variety of workshops
will give practical information for the ministries you as leaders are
called to carry out on God's mission fields in your congregation and
community. Workshop descriptions and a brochure with more

FOOD SAFETY TRAINING – a new MN law now requires that those
serving food at church fundraising events or community festivals be
trained in safe food handling practices. HWP will offer two training
sessions: Saturday, Feb. 25, 9:00 am –noon at YMLC, Sharon Stevens
facilitator; and Saturday, Apr 21, 9:00 am – noon at Bergen, Peggy
Danielson, facilitator. These sessions are open to all HWP members.

PRAIRIE CONFERENCE ASSEMBLY - Six lay members of St Lucas
can help choose who votes at 2013 Churchwide Assembly in
Pittsburgh. Sunday, Feb 26, 3:00pm at Danebod Lutheran in Tyler.
