World Geography 2nd Quarter Teacher’s Choice
Choose a number of assignments to add up to 30 points. Check off the assignments you intend to
complete. You will have 3 class days to work on these only: any other work must be done outside
of class. These assignments are graded for mastery of the subject; they are either perfect or
incomplete! Mastery is graded on a scale of 80-100% using a rubric.
5 Point Assignments
□ Post Cards from the past: Create a
post card from a growing city in the
U.S. or Canada. i.e. 1700s-1800s.
□ Bumper Sticker: Read Chapter 6 section 1
for cities. Make bumper sticker for a Canadian
or U.S. City
□ Countdown!: Chapter 5, pages 115125. Answer 1-6 in the section review.
□ Picture Analysis: Review the picture of the
person and graph on pages 134-135.
□ In ‘N Out: Canada Climate and
Vegetation- Chapter 5 Section 2
□ Picture Frame: Chapter 6 Section 1 Analyze
and create a photo for the U.S. and Canada.
10 Point Assignments
□ BioBox: Choose from the following
counties and how they colonized the
U.S. and Canada. England, France, and
Spain.
□ Flash Cards: Create flash cards of the
different types of climates of North America.
□ Comic Strip: Colonization of North
American Continent.
□ Illustrated Map : The agriculture,
transportation, manufacturing, and
transportation of the U.S., Canada, and
Mexico.
□ Brain Chain: Make a connection between the
pollution produced by the U.S. and Canada and
the challenges this produces for the future.
□ Song Rewrite: Create a song
promoting the natural landmarks of
North America. i.e. Mountains, Lakes,
Rivers, etc…
20 Point Assignments
□ Magazine Cover: Create a cover
using the vegetation that is native to
Latin American or South American
Countries.
□ Travel Brochure: Use a Latin
American or South American Country
□ Social Network: Describing a South
American Country and two of its major
geographical features.
