Class of 1961 Scholarship
The Wichita Falls Senior High School Class of 1961 is sponsoring an annual
scholarship in the amount of $750.00. The scholarship will be awarded to a
graduating senior to pursue their educational goals at the academic or vocational
college/university of their choice.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:




Applicant must be a first generation college student (neither parents nor siblings have graduated
from an academic or vocational college.)
Current year family TAXABLE INCOME reported (Form 1040/Line 43) to IRS cannot exceed
$30,000.
Attainment of a minimum grade point average of 2.5.
School enrollment must be no later than the first fall semester after high school graduation.

Two letters of recommendation from persons who can confirm your academic achievements and
personal commitment to your completing the education requirements and graduating.

Written Essay Details: Please submit your essay on a separate sheet of paper.
Your essay should be between 250 and 350 words in length, concise and cover your personal strengths and
academic achievements received through curricula and/or after school activities. Also address your
personal commitment to completing your education as well as major goals you plan to achieve upon receipt
of a graduate (academic or vocational) degree.
