investigate the following question: You will get ONE piece of gum and you will be asked to
chew the gum for a total of 5 min. You will mass the gum before the gum is chewed, after
you’ve chewed it for 1minute, 3 minutes and then finally at 5 minutes.

1. Use the balance to mass the gum in its wrapper. Record the mass in

2. Chew the gum for 1 minute.
3. Remove the gum from your mouth, place it on the wrapper, find the mass of the
gum in the wrapper and record in the________ _______. (leave the saliva in your
mouth)
4. Chew the gum for 2 more minutes and repeat step 3.
5. Chew the gum for 2more minutes and repeat step 3.
6. Compare team data for repeated trials.
