Specialty Programs
 OC Critical Care Winter/Spring program in progress with 26 participants. Another program
planned for Summer 2013
 Winter 2013 New Grad RN Transition program funded by Saddleback College and HWI will
start in Feb. Selection process in progress with 39 applicants. 35 in program, 2 dropped due
to job, 29 hired
 Summer 2013 New Grad RN Transition program funded by HWI with 60 applicants and 21
slots to start June 1st
Regional Planning
 Participated in Desert Region retreat planning meeting and coordinated F/U Conference call
 Ongoing planning with Lyla Eddington for regional projects in LA county
Faculty/Staff Development
 Clinical Faculty Academy completed January 2013 at Mt. San Jacinto College with 50
participants
 Michele Deck completed January 16th in Whittier with 55 participants
Curriculum
 Two Conference calls for MLT work group to discuss programs and curriculum and assist
school in implementing new programs.
 Statewide MLT webinar completed with 133 participants
 Planning for CNA curriculum revision with Project manager selected and contracting
completed
Committee/ workgroup Participation
 HWI Advisory meetings in Orange, Inland Empire and Los Angeles completed January 2013
with 20 industry participants and 34 education participants and 7others such as WIB and
county agencies.
 CINHC Steering/Advisory Meeting
 Steering Committee for the Orange County Mental Health Services Act
 Steering committee LA/Orange Regional Consortium
 Regional champion OC/IE for CA Action Coalition/Future of Nursing
 TAA-CCCT grant planning at Chaffey College and Golden West College
 Meeting with CDPH to discuss statewide CNA program/testing issues
High School Outreach
 Participated in Valley High School HOSA competition prep
