its capabilities at IMPA
The UK base of Wilhelmsen Ships Service is proud to rank No. 4 in the world in
terms of sales volume, of the 71 countries in which the company has an office.
Wilhelmsen Ships Service is the world’s leading maritime service network and has a
service presence in more than 2,200 ports.
Wilhelmsen Ships Service has 50 personnel in the UK, primarily at key offices in
Dartford, Southampton and Liverpool. The company also has representation by
direct employees in London, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
The UK team offers the company’s full range of ships services, including Unitor
safety products, technical services, safety and refrigeration, ships agency services,
and maritime logistics.
Of topical note is Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s R-22 Refrigerant changeover
capability, a necessary service resulting from the ban, from 31st December 2009, on
the top up any refrigeration systems containing R-22 or other ozone depleting HCFC
refrigerants.
Sten Rath, Product Marketing Manager Refrigerants & Refrigeration Products,
will be making a presentation on Wednesday 16th September at 1500 hours in
Hall 3’s presentation room.
One of the company’s four international engineering teams capable of implementing
the R-22 changeover is based at Dartford, and are called out both in the UK and to
locations around the world.
Wilhelmsen Ships Service is also targeting UK based customers with its Liferaft
Rental initiative, where all annual service schedules are planned on the shipowner’s
behalf and taken care of.
The dedicated customer centre at Dartford has an expert team which can advise the
customer about the myriad of regulations and requirements. The UK provides the
same high standard of service that Wilhelmsen Ships Service is proud to represent
throughout the world.
