London, 18th October, 2006. Over 100 attendees of the senior decision makers from
Colombia and the United Kingdom from a large range of private and public entities
attended the conference this year. The topics of discussion varied from the British
Government Plans and activities in Colombia by Lord Treisman of Tottenham, The
Colombian Government International Agenda and its relation with the UK, by the
Colombian Minister of Communications, Maria del Rosario Guerra, as well as a large
variety of topics related to the current situation of the country: recent presidential
election, change in the political parties, economics and trade issues and current
issues that influence the bilateral relation such as: The international image of
Colombia, corporate social responsibility, among others.

The British & Colombian Business and Social Awards (BSA) were created to
generate public recognition of the excellent accomplishments and contributions of
companies and business people whose efforts have strengthened the commercial &
investment relationship between the UK and Colombia. It also provides the
opportunity to update business leaders, potential investors and others from both
countries on the political, economic and social developments, which will influence
their decisions in the future.
The BSA Awards are organised by the British & Colombian Chamber of Commerce
in London (B&CCC) and supported by the Colombian Embassy in London, the British
Embassy in Bogotá and the British Charity Children of the Andes.
