The Road to Revolution: Timeline Assignment
Step 1: You will skim through your notes and the textbook (Pages 85-99) to find the dates for each event
listed below. Write the events in order and leave ½ page for information for each event. You will have a 4
page timeline when your assignment is complete.
Intolerable Acts
Boston Massacre
French and Indian War
Townshend Acts
Boston Tea Party
Stamp Act
Treaty of Paris 1763
Proclamation of 1763
Step 2: After you have put the events in order and written them with their exact dates, you will answer the
following 4 questions for each event using information from your book. Be thorough and detailed in your
answers for full credit.
1. What problem (s) caused the event?
2. What happened? Why is this event relevant to the discussion of rising tension between Great Britain
and the colonists?
3. How did colonists react to this event?
4. How did the British react or respond to the reaction of colonists?
5. How does the source portray or relate to the event? (See Step 3)
Step 3: After you have put the events in order and thoroughly answered each question, look at the sources
you have been given. Try to match each source with the event that it relates to and write a few sentences
about how the source relates to the event. Please check with me if you are unsure of a source and I’ll help you
figure it out.
