Netiquette for a Whole New Culture
When you surf on the Internet,
otherwise known as the Net, you are
joining thousands of other people
accessing information on the Web.
When you interact with someone
else on the Web, you are
contributing to the "culture" of the
Net. You have become a "Netizen".
As Carrie and Adam mention in the video,
it is important to be aware of some simple rules and expectations that
will assist you in being a responsible “Netizen”. Using
proper "Netiquette", such as treating others with respect, will make
surfing a much more pleasant experience for all concerned.
By watching the video and completing this learning resource, you will
be informed of proper online behavior…and be well on your way to
becoming a great “Netizen”.
Netiquette is a code of conduct that guides the behavior of Internet
users when they are online.

Core Rules - Netiquette
When communicating via email we
lack important information about
mood and feeling, it is very easy to
misinterpret computer based
communication.
The Internet community has
developed a series of symbols, known
as emoticons and acronyms, which you can use to add expression to
your writing.
Emoticons are made up from the symbols on a standard keyboard.
